Folks:
Yesterday, I attended a Juvenile -
Dependency Court Summit of some
1500 strong in Orlando, Florida, also attended by Governor Jeb Bush and the
head of our DCF (Department of Children & Families), Judge Kathleen Kearney.
While I didn't wear my bulletproof vest and while some listened to my horror
stories of false abuse accusations, many there still suffer from what we know
as *confirmatory bias*, and that if accused *he probably did it*.
On the flip and encouraging side was one psychologist, a forensic linguist
(language expert), Anne Graffam Walker, Ph.D., who talked of a case where a 4
year old girl disclosed how her Daddy went pee pee on her pee pee. After
deciphering exactly what the child meant, eviscerating the child's language
and doing a thorough, objective, and complete investigation, the child meant
that Daddy urinated on top of the child's urine (she forgot to flush the
commode) in the same commode/bathroom.
